How to Delete Your TravelGenerait Account
At TravelGenerait, you have full control over your data. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app by following these steps:
- Open the TravelGenerait app on your device.
- Navigate to the Settings tab (the gear icon in the bottom navigation bar).
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account".
- Read the confirmation message carefully — this action is irreversible.
- Type DELETE in the text field to confirm your intent.
- Tap the Delete button to permanently delete your account.
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed:
- Account Information: Your Firebase Authentication account, including your email address, name, and sign-in credentials.
- Profile Data: Your full name, phone number, date of birth, gender, country, profile photo (avatar), and travel interests/preferences.
- Saved Trips: All travel itineraries you have created or saved, including trip plans, destination details, and route information.
- Shared Trips: Any travel plans you have shared with others via deep links.
- Subscription Data: Your active subscription package, purchase history, and free credit usage records.
- Uploaded Content: Any profile photos (avatars) stored in our cloud storage.
What Data May Be Retained
In limited circumstances, some data may be retained after deletion:
- Third-Party Services: If you signed in via Google or Apple, those providers maintain their own records of your authentication. Deleting your TravelGenerait account does not delete your Google or Apple account. You can manage those separately through their respective platforms.
- RevenueCat (Subscription Management): Our subscription provider RevenueCat retains anonymized transaction records for accounting and legal compliance purposes. No personally identifiable information is retained by RevenueCat after your account is deleted.
- Firebase Authentication Logs: Firebase may retain authentication event logs for a limited period as part of its operational security measures. These logs do not contain your personal profile data.
- Legal Obligations: We may retain certain information if required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
Retention Periods
- Account & Profile Data: Deleted immediately upon account deletion.
- Saved & Shared Trips: Deleted immediately upon account deletion.
- Subscription Records: Anonymized transaction records may be retained by RevenueCat for up to the statutory limitation period required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
- Authentication Logs: May persist in Firebase system logs for up to 30 days as part of standard security operations, after which they are automatically purged.
Delete Data Without Deleting Your Account
You can also delete specific categories of your data without deleting your entire account. TravelGenerait provides a Data Management screen where you can selectively remove:
- Travel Preferences: Reset your interests and travel style settings.
- Personal Info: Remove your name, phone, date of birth, gender, country, and profile photo.
- Profile Photo: Delete only your avatar while keeping your profile intact.
- All Trips: Remove every saved and shared trip at once.
- All Data: Clear all of the above while keeping your account active — useful if you want a fresh start.
To access these options, open the TravelGenerait app, go to Settings → Data Management, and select the data you wish to delete.
Alternative Deletion Request
If you are unable to access the app or encounter any issues with the in-app deletion process, you can also request account deletion by contacting us at info@travelgenerait.com. Please include the email address associated with your TravelGenerait account in your request. We will process your deletion request within 30 days.
